Donald Sturgeon holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Warwick, a Bachelor's degree in Chinese Language and Literature from Beijing Language University, a Master's degree in Philosophy from Soochow University in Taiwan, and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Hong Kong. Since 2015, he has served as a postdoctoral fellow at the Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies at Harvard University and later as a researcher in the Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations. He is currently an assistant professor on the tenure track at Durham University in the United Kingdom. His research focuses on language, mind, and knowledge in early Chinese classical texts. He has also been actively involved in the digitalization of textual resources and employs computational methods to study early Chinese writings. He is the founder and director of Ctext (Chinese Text Project, https://ctext.org), a highly influential international platform in this field.
